Even though this neighborhood between Central West End and the Botanical Garden is not exactly a popular photo spot, I still found plenty to photograph. I think the things that caught my attention the most illustrate how different the way of life is there compared to where I live just a few miles away. They say that Wash U students live in a bubble, and I don't think I have stepped out of it even after I graduated. In the future, I look forward to photographing other neighborhoods in St. Louis and learning more about the city's history :) I hope that you find these photos interesting!
It is not the Arch; it is not the City Museum. It is not Busch Stadium; it is not Scottrade Center. It is not Wash U; it is not SLU. This neighborhood southeast of Forest Park is not one of St. Louis's "tourist attractions" (though how many people come to St. Louis just to tour anyway?) and doesn't have a discrete name. It is usually a place where people hurry through in passing to get to the next destination. Rarely do people walk these streets by foot, let along pause to photograph. Okay, O'Connell's is probably not as foreign to you ;)
